It was a bit of a grey day to start off with but we made the most of it. The team from Cheam were very friendly but the competition was persistant. Our finest hours were probably in the early morning and in the afternoon. The doubles against Brian and Jacky on lawn two made for a good start for us, but to be fair the bias on the lawn did help us a little/lot. Richard was consistantly accurate and went on to amply win his next singles match against Jacky.
Dulwich B lost to Cheam A in the GC Handicap league
I think it is fair to say that by the afternoon we were getting more into our stride, winning two of the three games. Tim's singles win in particular was impressive, against such a very worthy opponent in Brian. Brent also excelled in the final doubles which concluded with an epic 13th hoop win.
All things considered, Cheam 'A' are to be commended, not only for beating us on our home ground, but for their skillful and yet sociable play. It was a real pleasure playing against them.
