Dulwich win at Southwick ... perhaps?

Dulwich continued a long tradition of attending the SECF teams day at Southwick and for the first time this year we sent two teams. The teams were:-

Dulwich 1 - Paul Newton, Anna Gryce, Billy Cottrell, Chris Roseberg

Dulwich 2 - John Hague, Des Jarrett, Penny Benge, Sue Freathy

We all had a thoroughly good day. The sun shone (now and then), the play was good fun, the lunch was good and the bar was open from 12! Play started at 9 30am and went on to 7pm. There was plenty of sitting out enabling players to socialise. There were two doubles to play in the morning and three singles in the afternoon.

A special mention for Chris Roseberg and Billy Cottrell who were a successful doubles pair, winning both their games. Also well done to Billy for being the only player from Dulwich to win all three of his singles games.

Apparently, Dulwich 1 won the singles trophy. However there were no players from Dulwich to receive the trophy as we had all gone home by the time the presentation was done. I have sent my apologies to Bill Arliss.
